There are so many places in the USA to visit and explore. For years Mackinac Island had been on my “bucket list.” Recently, I had the good fortune to visit the Island with several good friends. It did not disappoint!
The Grand Hotel is definitely a national treasure. It does take one back in time and although it may exceed the budget of some it is well worth the cost. We stayed there for two nights and enjoyed a five course meal plus belly busting breakfasts while there. A carriage ride through the forest along with a lesson in history and visit to the Fort was entertaining well. Shopping in the village provided a fun afternoon.
Whether one wishes to splurge, revisit history or simply chill out on the marvelous porch, the Grand Hotel is a memorable experience.
